Brief Description: Initial Set Up for Aileron Tubes
I used the reamers to clean up both bellcranks and bushings, polished the outside of the bushings with scotchbrite, put on a little grease and assembled them. Both bushings were exactly the right length per the plans and the bellcranks were smooth throughout their entire range of motion.
I put all the washers in the aileron hinges per the plans and made the spacers from aluminum tubing also per the plans. Checked each measurement and the plans were within 1/64 of the actual dimensions required.
Used the wooden aileron jig and the W-730 metal aileron jig to adjust the W-818s length to set the aileron and bellcrank to neutral. Then added the W-716 with spacers and washers and I could use the tubes to move the ailerons on both wings.
