Did a lot of research on how long to make the W-818 and W-716 push pull tubes. In the end, decided to make them the stock length as shown in the plans.
Rough cut the W-818 tube with a hack saw then finished ends to length on the disk sander. Was able to get these tubes nice and square on the ends and the proper length. Decided to cut the W-716 stock in half to make it easier to work with for final sizing. Used the same technique of hacksaw first then sand to square.
Set up a drilling "V" block on the drill press. Marked the tube per plans, centerpunched and clamped the piece in the V block then drilled the tube and threaded end together with a #40 bit. Cleco'd the first hole then repeated the process for the second hole. Changed to #30 bit and drilled both holes to final size.
