Brief Description: Drill Bottom Skin and Hinge Right Flap
Marked and drilled one hole in the FL-708 spacers then match drilled second hole to the top skin. The plans called for the flap hinge to be 56 inches long. This appeared to make the last rivet hole right at the end of the hinge. I cut the hinge one "ear" longer than 56 inches, and planned to trim it to fit later. I kept the hinge pin un cut as I plan to use the "split pin" method for attaching and wanted to measure the required length for the bend to secure the hinge after riveting the hinge to the flap.
I drilled the bottom skin to the ribs and marked the centerline on the hinge. Realized the mark was on the wrong side, and re-marked the centerline on the correct side of the hinge. Clamped both halves of the hinge with pin installed to the spar with centerline passing through the holes. Match drilled the hinge to the skin and spar, clecoing as I went along the hinge. Periodically checked to make sure the hinge was still straight on the spar.
