Brief Description:  Countersink and Rivet Platenuts for Fuel Sender

While taking a break from the T-410 problem I decided to work on the T-708 plate with the fuel pick up and fuel level sender. I countersunk the holes for rivets on the platenuts. Took care to be sure these rivets were exactly flush with the surface of the plate as these will only be sealed by tank sealant on the outside of the tank. Set all rivets with the squeezer.

I cleco'd the plate in place and also the fuel level sender. Used a piece of wire to experiment with translating the float wire bend dimensions from the plans to the tank. Bent the float wire and as many have found the float hits the tank stiffeners. I reversed the float and it cleared the stiffeners, but came too close to my flapper door. I put a small joggle in the float wire which allows it to still clear the stiffener and have adequate clearance from the flapper.
