Brief Description:  Make Tie Down Spacers

Started on the wing tie down assembly. Read about issues with tapping the AEX pieces and decided to buy the kit from Cleaveland Tools with the pre-tapped AEX and powder coated rings. I made the spacers for the tiedown mount so I will be ready to install the assemblies when they arrive next week. Bought a new one inch hole saw and tried it out on a piece of scrap aluminum. Used 3 in 1 oil as lubricant and set drill press at slowest speed (approx 650 rpm). Saw cut a nice hole that cleaned and deburred with only a little work. Proceded to the aluminum bar from the kit. Laid out the first hole and cut it with the hole saw, then cut the piece to length on the band saw. Repeated this process until all four spacers were made. Deburred all holes and edges. Also primered the all countersinks in both spars. Used NAPA 7220, sparyed into a plastic cup and applied with a q-tip. Two coats of primer gave good coverage with this method.
