Brief Description:  Bending Ends of Trim Tab

I did all the edge finishing on the trim tab on Sunday, 9 Mar, then attempted the dreaded bending on Monday. Used the wood blocks I made to bend the elevator cut-out closed. Set up per the Van's instructions with marking the bend line, double sided tape on the bending blocks and clamping securely to the bench. Started the bends with a hammer and oak piece of scrap. Tabs bent well and I finished off with the rivet gun and flush set. Removed the blocks but could not get the bend to 91 degrees as per the plans. Used a combination of bending by hand using some scrap aluminum for leverage and judicious use of the hammer and wood blocks to get a good finished product.
