Assembled the elevator skeleton and drilled the root rib to the spar. Put the skin on the skeleton and got a good check of the straightness of the elevator after bending. Checked with a straight edge in multiple locations on both sides, and bend looks good. Drilled the elevator horn to the spar and root rib. Removed the horn and drilled the skin to the skeleton. Disassembled the elevator and dimpled the counterbalance skin for the screws. Machine counter sunk the lead weight to accept the dimples. Attempted to countersink the spar for the flush rivets holding on the root rib. Got two done but could not do the two holes closest to the top and bottom flange. Read the VAF forums on this issue and elected to dimple the top and bottom holes (and corresponding spots on the root rib). Will dimple all four on the left elevator.
