Began today figuring out how to set up the rivet gun with an offset cup set to rivet the HS-404 and HS-405 ribs onto the front spar. Made up some practice pieces and after a dozen rivets felt confident enought to attempt the ribs. Actual riveting of the ribs went well, no smileys, good shop heads. Next task was to teach my wife Frances how to buck rivets. Made more practice pieces and we riveted them together. She also learned how to check the shop heads with the rivet gauge. We worked together and successfully riveted the HS-707 nose rib in the left horizontal stabilizer. Lots of time spent in the shop, but only a couple of hours actual construction work.
