Brief Description:  Rivet Horizontal Stab Rear Spar

Finally finished preparing, deburring, dimpling and priming the horizontal stabilizer components and am ready for riveting. I cleco'd the rear spar HS-609PP reinforcements to the HS-603 channels and taped over the holes for the hinge brackets and rib attach points. I set up my Cleaveland Tools C-frame with a 1/8 inch universal head set in the base and a 12 inch back rivet tool in the gun. The rivet set was approximately 3/4 inch above the level of the table, as I built the table height for the dimple dies. This was solved by using pieces of scrap hardwood flooring as a support for the spar. Made a nice stable and level platform for the spar as I riveted. Results are very good, it is easy to make a good shop head with this set up. I put the shop heads on the side of the spar reinforcement bars as they are the thicker material, by far. I am still not confident enough in eyeballing the shop heads, so I have been using the rivet gage on every one to check for proper setting.
