Brief Description: Drill Heater Control, Make Hinges
The layout and drilling of the hole in the firewall support for the cabin heat control cable was more difficult than I thought. The hole is below the opening for the firewall recess just far enough to make measuring and drilling very awkward. Finally got it located and drilled #40 using an angle drill, Then upsized hole and deburred. Measured the upper and lower cowling and transferred these measurements to the fuselage. This gave me a good idea of where the hinges to support the lower cowling should go. I measured the span, adding enough for edge distance on both ends then cut the hinge material to size for both left and right sides. Clamped the left hinge in place and used the fuselage as a drill guide to drill the hinge, clecoing as I went. Removed the hinge and deburred.
