Brief Description: New Threaded Rod, Drill Slide Track
November went by without logging any work on the project. I helped Ken, volunteered at the museum, flew, and studied for my flight review.
I was still thinking about raising the back of the canopy up a little more but to do that I needed a longer threaded rod for the support. Went to the aviation section of a local bolt specialty store and scored a 3 foot piece of 1/4 by 28 all thread. Cut an 8 inch section and installed it in the plane. This gave me plenty of room to experiment with the height of the aft canopy. Found a good position for the slide which made the canopy side skirts and rails parallel to the fuselage and the canopy itself aligned well with the aft fuselage.
Had to remark the hole locations as the rail had moved almost 3/8 inch from the previous location. Drilled the new hole locations on the drill press. Frances came out to help secure the rail and I drilled it to the fuselage. Canopy slides nicely along the rail.
