Removing the engine from the shipping container was not going to be as simple as just picking it up. The engine was very securely packed in expanding foam inside the cardboard crate. I started by removing the top piece of foam and cutting the top flaps off the box. Then I was able to cut down each corner of the box and get a saw blade down between the side of the box and the foam. The foam adheres to the cardboard very well and so I wasn't able to just pull the box sides down. As I got two sides off the foam, I cut them off at the base of the box and then did the other two sides and removed the three corner pieces. Since the foam appeared to have expanded over the top of the engine somewhat I still coudn't lift the engine out of the crate. I began carefully cutting away at the foam to expose the engine without damaging anything.
