Brief Description: Drill Elevator Horns, Drill for Stab
Mounted the elevators on the stab and clamped them to neutral. Right side is slightly aft, so that became the reference. Marked horn for drilling, made drill guide/spacer, drilled horns to #40. Upsized spacer and upsized holes for bolt. With elevator on stab it is too heavy and awkward to put on and off solo, so Frances helps for each iteration going forward.
Drilled holes in aft deck for outboard bolts to #40. They look good top and bottom. Upsized holes to 3/16 per Karetaker. Put stab on with shims and spacers in place. Checked fit. Drilled a hole in tape measure and cleco'd to top hole on firewall. Ran tape back to stab and put a black dot in center of forward rivet on stab. This is the reference mark fopr measurements. Worked stab and repeated measurements until both sides were exactly the same. Clamped stab in place and marked the bottom of stab forward spar for drilling. Centerpunch and drill #40, then upsize to 3/16.
