With the new straight edges on the canopy I decided to remark the centerline. Frances and I used the string method to locate several points on the center of the canopy, then I connected the dots with a grease pencil. Flipped the bubble over and put the frame in to locate the best fit for the spine and mark where the hole will be for the canopy latch. After several trial locations settled on the best location we could get and marked the hole location. Drilled with #40 for initial hole then used step drill to open it to proper size. Used scotchbrite and 400 grit paper to edge finish the hole. Test fit the frame and find the latch tube doesn't fit in the hole. Quit for the day.
