Brief Description:  Make Doubler, Prime Skin

I deburred the bulkhead with a dremel scotchbrite wheel and used the squeezer to dimple the bulkhead and skins for -4 rivets. I had to grind down the female side of the dimple set to fit into the flange of the bulkhead. I washed the skin and F-6111 ribs in Dawn dish soap and warm water and set aside to dry.

I tried a couple of ideas for the doubler before finally deciding to use a piece of scrap from a rib I replaced to make an angle doubler I could attach to the flange and the face of the bulkhead. I cut out the part on the band saw and did a couple of test fittings to get the shape right. I put two rivets in the flange, spaced from the holes for the skin, and two in the face. Drilled these and deburred, then dimpled for flush rivets on the flange and face. Washed the doubler.

I wiped down several areas on the fuselage I had removed primer from, then primed the skin, F-6111 ribs and the doubler. I also touched up primer on the bulkheads, longerons, etc.
