Brief Description: Drill Armrests, First Conical Bend
Drilled the armrests to the skin, removed and deburred holes in the armrests. Left a reminder on the skin for deburring later. Stored armrests.
Prepared for conical bends by removing carpet from the bench, making angles as described in plans and Wirejock build log. Rounded edges of angles near all bend lines. Removed side skin and prepared bend notch with scotchbrite and 400 grit sanding. Marked bend lines as per pictures in manual. Made a cardboard template of the bend radius. Clamped the skin securely and made the first bend attempt. Had to do some work to get large end to match curve, squeezing by hand, pushed down on bend angle, etc. Test fit on fuselage and removed and adjusted the curve several times. Finally satisfied with the fit and had no cracking in the small end of the bend.
