Used the second longeron end to do another practice cut and notch. Decided I could not use the drill press as I did on the first practice piece as there was no way to get the longeron into my press. Drilled by hand and initial holes came out well, used a #40 pilot drill then moved up to full size for the radius called out in the plans. Cut the slots on the band saw.
Set up for the first longeron. I cleaned off the old marks and re-measured and marked the reference lines from the plans and used the F-714 as the template for the notch. Drilled the hole for the outboard radius and tried to set up to cut the notch on band saw as I did with practice pieces. This proved un-workable, so I cut part way with a dremel cut off wheel and finished with a hand hacksaw. Filed the cuts smooth and checked orientation and width with the F-714. Slowly expanded the notch until it fit on the F-711C bars and went nicely into the slots in the bulkheads.
Followed the same process for the second longeron. I will trim the ends to final length and make the end cut once we have joined the fuselage parts and have a final fit check.
