The rough measurements of the aft and center fuselage gave me enough confidence to trim the longerons by about 7 inches each. This left them about two inches longer than the original plans measurement. I did an experiment to cut them using my bench to support the longeron and cutting on the band saw. This technique gave a good square cut on the end.
I used the cut ends to check the longeron fit at the bulkheads and found all of the bulkhead slots were too tight and needed some filing and emory paper to allow the longeron to fit smoothly. I also used the cut ends to do a practice layout and drill/cut for the end and the notch.
