Brief Description:  Deburr, Dimple, Countersink Rt Aileron

Used the squeezer to dimple the trailing edge skin. Was able to do all holes except the last one at the bend, used the close quarters "pop rivet" dimple dies to make these dimples. Again used the squeezer on the ribs, but the last hole could not be done with the squeezer or the pop rivet, as the mandrel was too long to get through the narrow space. Researched on VAF website and found a technique to cut a mandrel so it is same length as the dimple dies together. Then used that to align the dies with the hole and squeezed the dies with a pair of pliers. This made a fair dimple, then I removed the mandrel and squeezed again with the dimple providing alignment. This gave a good dimple.

Dis-assembled the leading edge, deburred all holes, scuffed parts with scotcbrite. Used the edge roller to put a slight bend in the leading edge skin for the lap joint with the trailing edge skin. Dimpled holes in the skin and spar with squeezer. Used the countersink cutter to countersink the counterweight for the blind flush rivets. Screwed a 2 x 8 to the bending brake to make a support for the leading edge skin. Cleco'd the skin to the counterweight and used a male dimple die in the C-frame die holder to dimple the skin.

Cut some scotchbrite squares and ran them through the counterweight like cleaning a gun barrel. Washed all parts in Dawn dish soap and warm water and set aside to dry.
