Brief Description: Rivet Aileron Gap Seal and Flap Brace
Jason came home for Labor Day weekend and we got in a little shop time. We were preparing to install the aileron gap seal and flap brace on the right wing. Jason studied the plan for the rivet callouts and we used the squeezer to set the rivets for the gap seal to the rear spar. Could not get the squeezer on the last rivet closest to the inboard aileron bracket due to the doublers added with the Service Bulletin. Tried to set it with a bucking bar but the rivet was unsat. I will contact Van's for advice.
We took the wing out of the cradle and laid it on the bench to rivet the flap brace to the rear spar. This orientation worked well, with me running the gun and Jason bucking.
