Brief Description:  Seal Rivets, Start Vent Line

Started on building the fuel tank vent line. Measured length on tank, straightened coiled tubing with a spring tube bender and cut off with tubing cutter. Deburred ends of tubing with small file and scotchbrite. Also cut off end to use as practice piece in the new 37 degree flaring tool. Made a passable flare on first attempt, watched EAA hints for homebuilders and got some good tips before I do it for real. Inserted plastic snap rings in the ribs for the vent guide.

Decided to finish sealing the shop heads of all rivets inside the tank before proceeding with vent line installation. Mixed sealant and dabbed on with gloved finger. Also did a good search for any open voids in fillets, missed spots, etc and sealed everything up tight. While sealant was setting up I used scotchbrite wheel on a dremel and hand pads to clean off excess sealant on outside of tank.

Spent some time looking at tank and planning how to assemble and bend vent line as indicated in plans.
