Brief Description:  Add Nutplates to Left Spar

Read in VAF website a tip on installing the three nutplates for securing the inboard end of the fuel tank before riveting on the ribs. Located the holes, double and triple checked the plans for the correct orientation, then drilled the mounting holes to #40, deburred and began countersinking. The top and bottom holes were too close to the spar reinforcements for the countersink cage, so I countersunk them freehand with a deburring tool in a power screwdriver. Cut a little at a time and checked depth with a rivet until it sat flush. Used my new tungsten bucking bar for the first time to set the rivets securing the nutplates. First five went well, last one had to be drilled and re-done. One hour of actual work, another 1.5 hours not logged for study, set up, and replacing the bad rivet!
