Government shutown and on furlough again. Got in one hour on 1 October, the rest was done on 2 October. Continued with deburring holes, scuffing with scotchbrite pads, and edge finishing on the rudder skeleton parts. Once that was done I began dimpling the skeleton parts. The rudder ribs are very narrow at the trailing edge so I had to learn a new technique to dimple these places. Searched the VAF website and saw a couple of techniques using the pop rivet puller and dies with spacers beween the flanges. I have the pop rivet dies in my Cleaveland Tools kit, but elected to go with the "close quarters" female die, the rivet gun with flush set, and a rivet. This die also came with my tool set. I clamped the die to the bench and made some practice dimples in scrap .032 aluminum. Technique worked well and it made a good dimple. Successfully dimpled holes near the trailing edge of the ribs. Used the squeezer on almost all of the other dimples in ribs and skins. I set up the C-frame for a few skin dimples that I couldn't reach with the squeezer.
