Studied drawing 7 and the instructions to be sure we understood how to cut the stiffeners for the rudder before we made our first cut. We made the initial cuts to separate the two stiffeners in each piece with a dremel tool cut-off wheel. We cut the aft end taper on the band saw, and Jason smoothed the edges with a file and scotchbrite. We finished the edges and rounded corners on the scotchbrite wheel. Once we had the trailing edges finished we used the skin as a template to mark the length of each stiffener and cut them off on the bandsaw. We also used the longest stiffener as a template and made the angle cut on the upright end of the stiffener as depicted for the elevator stiffeners. Used the spar to check the length to be sure all will fit. Repeated the process for the left half of the rudder.
