Furlough day number four. I gave the skeleton parts a final going over to scuff any finger marks that showed up since I finished them, then washed all the parts with Dawn soap and water, wearing gloves so as to not put any oils on the clean parts. Set all the parts aside to air dry on the back porch while I got out the downdraft paint box and set up for priming. Once the parts were dry I shot them with NAPA 7220 primer. Used the same technique on the skin as I did with the horizontal stab: remove the blue plastic from the rivet lines, scuff that area, then pull all the blue plastic, wash the part and shoot the primer, aiming only for the scuffed areas, letting the overspray go onto the untouched alclad.
