Brief Description:  Right Horizontal Stabilizer

Jason and I set the rest of the rivets in the skin of the left horizontal stab on 27 and 28 Jun. He did a good job bucking rivets with none drilled out. We then moved on to the right stab. We cleco'd in the nose rib, HS - 707, and decided to use solid rivets for top and bottom since Jason was able to buck them for the left stab. We cleco'd in the main rib and tip rib and set both the top and bottom rivets for the nose rib. We removed the main rib and put the right side stab on the skeleton/left stab assembly. We set the blind rivets to join the main rib, nose rib and front spar, then set the rivets for the tip rib to front spar. Had a bad shop head on one of these so we successfully drilled and replaced it.

On 29 Jun we set rivets for the skin on the right stab. Had a few bad shop heads today and got more practice drilling and replacing a couple of rivets. Once we finished the skin I found a note in the plans for the bolts that will eventually hold the front spar to the fuselage. I had set rivets in these holes when building the front spar, so more drilling practice to remove them.

Next we cleco'd in the rear spar and began squeezing the rivets near the leading edge for the tip rib and inner nose rib. Had a bad squeeze on one rivet for another drill out session resulting in a second "oops" rivet hole. We only did the leading edge rivets as we still have to remove the rear spar to set the oops rivet in the center of the left stab, as soon as they arrive.
