Brief Description:  Preparing to mount the propeller

This is the start of the propeller mounting process. The crank/prop extension has two ½” x 1” long pins that get pounded into the prop once it is oriented with the #1 blade and the #1 marking on the extension. These pins are a tight force fit and require a big hammer per the instructions, up to 5 pounds. The by using a block of wood for protection of the extension, you pursued the prop and extension together with the spinner back plate sandwiched between the two. So now the prop and extension are in the right orientation, but I still have to get the position it gets mounted on the crank before it is put in place. I have to get this procedure from Vans. The orientation is to be at the 11/4:00 o’clock position, but I have to find out where the engine crank position needs be. Stay tuned.
