I did not like the spongy feeling of my original pull rudder pedal that I had made and decided something more robust was required. The solution was to use 5/8ā diameter bar stock and 3/16ā 2024 aluminum angle. I used AN4-16A bolt to attach the bar stock to the angle and two AN3 bolts to hold the angle to the rudder pedal. You say this is overkill, but it is really strong and the spongy felling is gone. It did add some weight, but so did the hand brakes and this is just the price I pay for being an amputee. It is much better to be safe the sorry, and Iām OK with the extra 1-2 pounds.
