It’s hard to believe that the wing root fairings took 4 hours to install since they were on once already when I built them. For some mysterious reason, when I screwed them in place they didn’t lay flat the way it remembered, or perhaps way back then, I didn’t know better. At any rate I needed to do some shaping and had them on and off many times to get them close. The fairings are not perfect, but they look good to naked eye and should look even better after the paint job. I used Torx 8-32 x 5/8 100 degree flat head screws to hold them in place; using Phillips flat head screws are just a bad idea for this application, the cross slot will strip out in one or two uses.
