These pictures are bad because I didn’t realize there was condensation on the lens, but it is all I have. The covers for the hinge pin access made from aluminum did not work out the way I hoped. They did not take the compound shape of the cowl very well, so it was back to the drawing board. I decided to layup some fiberglass material over the cowl to get the right shape. I used 5 layers of 9 ounce cloth laid up over Cling and Seal wrap, and cover it with peel ply to remove the excess epoxy. This worked out much better. The layup ended up about .07 inch thick. I used the aluminum covers as a pattern to get a good fit and they now with hold filler to get a tight fit and a good curve to the cover that matches the cowl.
