Brief Description:  Bogert Tow Bar

I decided to buy the Bogert tow bar to move the plane around, you need a handle somewhere. This is a nice product and works much better then I imagined. The only thing I didn’t care for is the standard method of use is to clamp on the 2 Allen head bolts on the nose fork which are much smaller then the ID of the Bogert bar. I decided to make some proper bushings and have a good fit; also it will protect the bolts in addition. The bushings came from Lowes Aviation department and are good quality. They nested, so I could use a 3/8” OD and a 5/8” OD and get to the size need to fit in the Bogert bar. I cut them to the proper length, albeit they may have to be shortened a bit if the wheel pant interferes. The best part about this system is the Bogert bar has a lock to hole it open while you line it up and then you can release the handle through the holes in the wheel pant to go onto the bushing. So, with a little care, no scratched wheel pant.
