You can gob lots of high temperature silicone caulk in this area, but I like the idea of fully removable baffles and decided to use the rubber seal instead. I think this looks better and is much more functional. I actually think the weight is a trade off, but it may be a few ounces more. The downside is the amount of time it takes to cut and fit all the little pieces.
