Brief Description: Preparing canopy for bonding canopy to the frame
Today I worked on preparation for bonding the canopy. This has to be done right, so I’m taking my time to get it right. The 2x4”s was bored with a 3/5" auger to bring the canopy bow in ½” from normal width because the tension of the canopy spring back will pull it out at least 3/8”. This is a compromise to allow the canopy frame to slide easily in the track and improve fit. It is too bad the canopy does not fit the frame, but it just doesn’t, so you have to compromise to get the best fit possible. Next time in the hanger I will cut the bottom of the Plexiglas canopy to fit inside the bottom frame and reduce the rear overhang to about 1”. The I will get two guys to hlp me bond it.
