Brief Description: Flap Position Sensor and Fuselage Center Caps
What a day. I just couldn't get in the swing of things. I spent 133% longer than other people I've read about trying to position the flap position sensor and I am still not done. I pulled the battery out of my mower and hooked alligator clips to it and the flap motor to run the bar up and down. Until Joe mentioned it, I didn't even think to check if the flap bars were striking the bottom of the fuse (I haven't cut the holes for the flaps yet). I finally gave up and started riveting in the center caps in the fuselage. I only managed to get one done and halfway through that one, I broke my good rivet puller. I did the rest of them using my "modified" rivet puller for close quarter riveting. As usual, I had just placed an order with Aircraft Spruce the night before and now I find that I need a $.02 screw. I don't know if I will return to the flap position sensor tomorrow or just work on something else for awhile (ADAHRS mount, ANL current limiter and shunt mount, etc.) to make a little forward progress.
