Brief Description:  Fuel Pump, Andair Fuel Selector Valve

I just realized that I didn't take any pictures of anything described in the "Short Description." Today was one of only two days that I can recall that I did not enjoy working on the plane. I primed the gussets and bolted them in place. I then fit the angles I made yesterday and drilled them to the sides. I tried using the rivets that He Who Shall Not Be Named used but the MSP 42 didn't work out too well (in the lowest hole). I should drill it out but I left it alone. These angles aren't structural and I would probably do more damage. I used AD-42H in the next two holes up and AD-41H in the uppermost hole. I started working on the AFP fuel pump. I cut the rubber strips and and attached them to the center cover plate and used the pipe clamp to attach the filter. I then tried to attach the pump itself but the one piece of tubing that is attached hits the filter when the manifold is vertical. I need to rotate the tubing slightly but I'll be doggone if I could loosen it. I was afraid that I would damage the pump so I put it aside and will ask Joe or Bob to take a look at it. I started working on the Andair fuel selector valve. I drilled the 1.125" hole in the center and the #19 holes for the mounting screws (not included with the valve). I primed and painted the mounting plate and set it aside to dry. The plate is not countersunk for flathead screws and old Matronics post state that roundhead screws interfere with the selector lever. Hopefully, that was on the old style valve. I was pretty burned out, so I wanted to do something somewhat mindless. I removed the upper fuselage skins, edge finished, deburred, and dimpled them. Feeling somewhat accomplished, I decided to make and install the rod that connects the two "sticks" and keeps them synched. I made it to the length in the plans and installed it. The two sticks aren't parallel. Time to quit for the day.
