I "wasted" the morning adding receipt information into Kit Log to update the expense log. I then went to Home Depot to purchase bolts to temporarily hold the F-704A & B Bulkheads together with spacers. They didn't have the correct bolt, so I purchased the "next best thing." I also picked up a small tap and die set. I had a 6-32 tap, but I needed an 8-32 for the seat rib platenuts (don't yell at me, it's per Van's instructions!). While at HD, I ran into Ken from my EAA Chapter. He's building an RV-14 and lives about a mile from me. We agreed to help each other buck and rivet when needed. You can never have too much help! I returned home and bolted the bulkheads together and clecoed them to the F-776 bottom skin. I final drilled everything and countersunk the four holes in the skin where the floor stiffeners will later get riveted. I had a few questions about an ADHRS bracket, so I called Joe Tierney (RV-7 Builder, EAA 1379 Tech Counselor). He answered my questions as always and then offered to come over tomorrow, look over my progress and help me bend the longerons. After I got off the phone with Joe, my friend Pete Timbie (RV-6 builder), called and offered to come over. We spent the rest of the afternoon and a good portion of the night discussing our RVs. Pete and I worked on the crotch strap attach brackets and got them drilled to the seat ribs. Not having the Hooker harness on hand, I used the 5/16" spacing referenced in Brad Oliver's rv7factory.com to space the forward and aft brackets. This is a wider gap than called for in the plans for Van's harness. Hopefully, Hooker hasn't changed the dimension since Brad wrote his page. I need to order two AN5-7A bolts to replace the -5 bolts now.
