Brief Description:  More Flap Work

Too tired to work on the plane last night, so I didn't have everything ready to prime this morning. I got up and mowed the grass first and then went to work on the plane. I got everything deburred and set up the priming table and washed down the first spar and ribs. As soon as I began to etch the spar, the heavens opened up and it poured rain. I finished etching it in the garage and then stood in the rain to rinse the part with the hose. I brought in the remaining parts and dried them with compressed air. As I had one spar etched, I primed it with a brush-looks like heck, but oh well.

I had rattle canned the FL706B, platenuts, and inside ribs so I riveted them together with the squeezer. I dimpled the rest of the parts in preparation for priming tomorrow morning. I then cut two 13" pieces of wood from a piece of the wing crate and traced the outline of the inside rib on one of them. I screwed the two pieces together and then used the bandsaw to cut the "V" from the wood. I screwed two pieces of 2x4 to the bottoms and, voila, I have a jig for the flap construction.
