My order from Avery Tools came in yesterday with my Vise-Grip dimpler so I finished dimpling the R-903 and R-904 rudder ribs. When I got to the last holes of R-903 I could not get the Vise-Grips to fit. I used the steel "bucking/dimpling" bar that I constructed as part of the Van's airfoil practice kit to dimple the holes. I placed the bar inside the flange of the ribs and inserted an AN426AD3-3.5 rivet into the rib and bar. A few taps with the rivet gun and the hole was dimpled. I machine countersunk the lead counterbalance weight (E 614-020) for the #10 countersunk screws and dimpled the R-912 counterbalance rib. The rudder is now ready for priming and assembly.
