Brief Description:  Drilling the Horizontal Stabilizer

I was able to get a few hours in today before work. I dimpled HS-702 carefully ensuring that the center four holes were dimpled so that the flush heads faced aft. I countersunk HS-710 and HS-714. I straightened the flanges and finished the edges on all of the pieces. I then measured and remeasured the hole locations and marked them on the forward side of the forward flange of HS-405 before drilling #40 pilot holes. I clecoed the left side pieces together and drilled the rib to spar attach holes to #30. Everything then came apart to debur the holes. Two turns with the speed debur tool in each hole and they were good to go. I pulled out the left side skin (HS-601PP) and clecoed it to the assembly. It took a minute or two of struggling with the pieces before I got my technique down and then it went on smoothly. Even with the bucket of clecos that Pat loaned me, I ran short. Joe has offered to loan me some more if I don't get some in shortly. I enlarged the HS-708 to HS-603PP holes to #21. I next clamped HS-404 and HS-405 in place and marked the approximate hole locations through the skin with a sharpie. This will tell me where I can flute the ribs when I remove them.
