I deburred the firewall pass thru hole Joe and I drilled yesterday. I then used a piece of the pass thru to drill the four mounting holes. I applied some heat resistant sealant to both pieces and bolted them together, sandwiching the firewall between them. I slid the fireproof sleeve over the stainless tube and tightened the two hose clamps per the directions. The outerrmost clamp will get moved once the wires are run through the pass thru.
I finished constructing the mounting tray for the VP-X and EMS. I cut aluminum sheet and riveted platenuts to the ribs between the firewall and subpanel. The tray will be attached to the bottom of the ribs above the rudder pedals. I will mount the VP-X and EMS to the bottom of the tray using additional platenuts. The units will hang down and should be easier to access should that be necessary in the future.
