Brief Description:  Amp Shunt and Current Limiter

One of those rare days when I did not enjoy working on the plane. My starter contactor was "crooked" after I connected it to the battery contactor some time ago. It had bugged me and Joe noticed it when he was over. I was looking at it and it hit me that the holes in the copper bar were too close together and it pulled the lower contactor out of position. I decided to rectify my error. This became quite involved as I found that I had not tightened one of the bolts holding the battery contactor to the firewall. To get to it, I had to remove the starter contactor and battery box. One of the bolts attaching the battery box also attaches the adel clamp holding the heater vent control cable. Everything came out and got reinstalled. I then carefully measured for the amp shunt and current limiter. I cut a piece of aluminum sheet to use as a backing plate. I drew lines on the firewall and I still managed to get it mounted crooked. Same with the platenuts. I countersunk the backing plate and went to dimple the firewall with my dimple die in the rivet gun. I forgot the the female die in the bucking bar attachement and beat the heck out of my firewall for a few holes until I realized my mistake. I then promptly broke the male die on the next to last hole. I was more than a little sad, as I had purchased my dies from the Averys and they are now retired. I finally got the amp shunt and current limiter mounted. I often wish I wasn't tracking my time, as I find lately that it is taking me two and a half to three times as long as others to accomplish the same task-and less than perfect results.
