Brief Description:  Cabin Heat Vent & Diodes

After a little rest, I was able to clearly see how to repair my bandsaw. I reinstalled the adjuster, however, I am still waiting on the new tires to arrive. I also managed to get the four screws in the plate that holds the fuel injection pump and filter to the the fuselage floor ribs. I then could not find the T-fitting that supposedly came with the installation kit from Van's, so I moved on to other things. I tried using a strap to tighten down the canopy frame skin to the fuselage, but it made no difference so I moved on again. I dug out a bag of parts and started going through them to see what I had purchased and since forgotten. I pulled the cabin heat vent "shuttle" out and heard something hit the floor. I located a washer, but I think I either lost a bolt and washer or it was never in the kit. I found a 2" holesaw that I had torgotten that I owned and began cutting the hole in the firewall. The engine mount was in the way, but I managed to get it done with a lot of Boelube and some patience. I need to purchase some "high temperature silastic" to seal the shuttle to the firewall. I grabbed the diodes from the bag and installed them on the master and starter relays. I need to order some copper bar to connect the two. B&C has it for less than others and I need their 90 degree oil filter adapter anyway. I will probably order my battery cables from them while I am at it. I marked the hole locations (but did not drill them) for the throttle, mixture and prop control cables. Probably won't get much done this weekend, as I am going to The Players Championship two days and a coworker is being promoted in the military. He has promised to get me into the cockpit of an F-15 so the RV will have to wait!
