Brief Description:  Wings to Hangar, Preparation for Wiring

A huge debt of gratitude to Tom Dorsey and Joe Tierney for helping move the wings to the hangar this morning! They arrived safe and sound and I now have some extra room in the garage.

Joe and I drove back from the hangar and I thought we would cut the canopy but Joe had a better plan. We put the canopy on the plane and Joe marked the areas where I should make the next cuts. We then put the canopy back on the sawhorses for me to cut at a later date and moved on to the firewall. Joe suggested getting the wiring done and the engine hung before the canopy gets in the way. We drilled a hole in the firewall for the ground block forest of tabs. We didn't mount it however, because I had only purchased a 24/24 block and Joe suggested using 48 tabs on the inside of the firewall. We then mounted the transducer block for the manifold pressure using platenuts and two AN3-8A bolts. We drilled another hole through the firewall just above and next to the contactors for the power wire going to the VPX-Pro. I brought the engine mount back out to the garage and we bolted it to the firewall. Joe and I decided to run all of the engine sensor wires through a single firewall pass-thru which we drilled through the upper center portion of the firewall. My single unibit was not large enough to drill the hole so Joe made a run back to his hangar at the airpark and brought one of his. We decided how to mount the EMS and VPX to the bottom of an aluminum plate that I am attaching to the subpanel ribs with platenuts. I attached the platenuts to the ribs and called it a day. Time to study the VPX manual and use the online planner.
