Brief Description:  Advancing to the Rear

I marked the angles at the rear of the canopy frame side rails and drilled the holes to #40. Pat Lee stopped by and delivered some material from Les, another EAA 1379 member and RV builder. It is a two part mixture to use as a fill between the fiberglass tips and rudder, horizontal and vertical stabilizers. Pat took a look at my canopy frame predicament and made some suggestions to improve the fit. He is also going to give me his old PC680 battery so that I can get the correct lengths for my battery cables and tubing spacers for the battery box. Joe Tierney then stopped by and took a look at my plane. He also came bearing gifts. Joe brought me the wingwalk material for my wings. He caught a mistake I had made installing my 5th point seatbelts. Out they come. One step forward and two back. He took a look at the canopy frame and made some suggestions. He recommended that I drill out the center splice plate and order a new plate and canopy frame skin. Another step backward. It was good to have Pat and Joe stop by. I have a much better idea of how the canopy is to be constructed, how to plan the instrument panel and subrib placement, how to and not to place the VPX Pro, how to mount the ADAHRS, how to run the fuel lines to the wing and the return line for the purge, how to plan the remaining firewall penetrations, and so on.
