Brief Description:  More Electric Flaps

I got called out yet again in the middle of the night on Monday so by the time I finished my FAA physical yesterday afternoon, it took all of my effort just to get to Home Depot and pick up some more Rustoleum Hammered Grey paint. Needless to say, I didn't work on the plane last night! I had today off, so I finish painted the forward seat floors and forward covers. I riveted the F-785B angle to the bottom of the F-785A backrest brace. I wish I had paid more attention when I drilled the two of them together the other night, because the plans call for the brace to be 1/8" up from the bottom of the angle. C'est la vie, mea culpa, my bad... I installed the F-766 assembly in the fuselage. I used my lawn tractor battery to run the flap motor fully in both directions to find the center. I found that it has 5" of travel, so I ran it out to the 2.5" mark and bolted the motor to the actuator arm. I still have to safety wire it. When I drilled the hole for the safety wire the other day, I drilled it on the aft side of the arm. Now I can see that the plans depict the hole on the forward side. I don't think that it will make any difference, but I'll check with Joe or Bob on Saturday at the Young Eagles Day. I clamped the F-766B bracket to the channel and drilled it using the holes in the channel as guides. I removed the bracket from the motor, riveted it to the channel, and reinstalled the motor "with the cotter pin!" Installation of the F-785A backrest brace came next along with the fitting of the F-760 Flap Actuator Covers. I got the holes drilled in the backrest brace and then removed the covers and backrest brace. I riveted the platenuts to the backrest brace and called it a night. The plans call for assembling the wings to the fuselage next. I don't think I will be able to pull that off in my garage. I may have to (temporarily) move the plane to the hangar. I think I can push the Cessna off to one side and fit the RV in there. Strongly thinking about selling the Cessna.
