Brief Description: Began Assembling F-705 Bulkhead
Finally moved on from the F-704 Bulkhead. I didn't fab the wooden spacers and trial bolt the sections together. I will do that at some later date.
I cut the F-705B to length and marked the center line. Next up was fabricating the F-605C Bar Doublers and the F-705H Spacers. While drilling, one of the F-705H Spacers "walked"a little and the hole is slightly off center. I think it is ok; I will build on.
I drilled the F-634 Seat Belt Anchors to the lower bulkhead assembly. I drilled the left anchors and then bolted them on, clamped the right anchor to the left with a 3/16" shim in between and to the bulkhead and drilled away. I used the bandsaw to trim some of the anchor flanges where they interfere with rivets.
Next up was drilling the F-705J Angle, the F-705K Plate and the F-705L seat adjustment supports to the F-705F Channel. It took me a fair amount of time to wrap my head around what needed to be done and then doing it. Bending the plate to a 4* angle was easier than I thought. I clamped it to the edge of my workbench under a piece of aluminum angle and "tapped" it with a rubber mallet. Voila.
I disassembled the F-705A lower bulkhead and prepped it for priming and then fabricated the F-605G Angles as I am building a tip-up canopy. I also drilled the snap bushing holes to full size and prepped the F-705D L&R for the K1000-08 platenuts to be installed.
