Brief Description:  VS Rear Spar and Rudder Stiffeners

I purchased a circle cutter (fly cutter) at Sears and cut the lightening holes in the VS rear spar doubler. I changed the drill press to 300 RPM and cut a practice circle in a piece of wood to make sure I had the operation down pat before carving up the aluminum doubler. I don't want to spend any more money than necessary on replacement parts and, even worse, I don't want to wait over a week to get an order in from Van's. I am still waiting for the rivets and Pro Seal I ordered from them last week. It takes awhile to get from one corner of the US to the other. I then finished the edges of the spar channel and dimpled the flange holes to accept the skin. I moved back to the rudder stiffeners and deburred the holes and finished the edges of most of the stiffeners for the right side. I decided to call it quits at this point as I have been up for over 24 hours and I wanted to stop while I was still having fun. I received an RC airplane for Christmas so I think I will put it together although it is much too windy to fly it today.
