Brief Description: Instrument Panel - Vent and Flap Switch Install
Decided to cut the holes for the fresh air vent and flap switch.
• Located and drilled a pilot hole for the fresh air vent. • Using a compass saw set to 2 3/8" diameter, cut the hole for the fresh air vent. • Located the corners for the RAC Flap Switch, drilled #40 holes in each corner, using a T-square and the edge of the panel to hopefully ensure the flap switch will be square with the panel’s edge. • Connected the #40 holes using a Drimel and diamond coated but off wheel, being as careful as possible to NOT over cut the #40 holes in the corners. • The final hole is roughly rectangular, but not large enough, used a file to carefully remove additional material from the panel, testing fitting the RC Allen switch numerous times to get a really nice fit.
Somehow I managed to get the flap switch installed where is looks square with respect to the panel, very pleased with how this turned out
