Began the install of UMA Tach sensor. The pickup installs on either magneto in the port closest to the drive side, or another way to say, in the port most difficult to access. It's impossible to install while the magneto is on the engine, there is not enough clearance between the magneto and the accessory case of the engine.
Looked over the rear of the engine to see the best magneto as a victim for removal… It looks like I’ll have the most clearance on the left magneto.
Half considered ordering the mechanical style tach pickup but it was around $175 and I’m not sure if it would not present its own set of issues.
