Brief Description: GDL 39 R ADS-B Bracket Assembly
For locating the GDL 39R ADS-B receiver, I test fitted under the right floor console cover to make sure it would clear the IBBS backup battery which mounts to brackets riveted to the floor.
Constructed the GDL 39 R Brackets from L-angle, located where the nut plates should be for attaching to the console braces, then match drilled through the console braces and brackets.
After riveting the two L-angle pieces, used the nut place jig to drill holes to each nut plate for the mounting screws (flush) that will be in common with the console braces.
Since the L-angle is a bit 'substancial', I drilled some lightness into the brace using a unitbit to create some cool looking holes.
I thought this looked so cool, that I had better drill more cool holes into the bottom plate of the bracket.... that's where the oops occured. Once I drilled the holes in the bottom plate that supports the GDL 39R, and then attempted to locate the holes for the nut plates, I realized I had just created holes where the nut plates need to be rivted... Well, at least it was a decent rehearsal.
